ABOUT
GimmeDat didn’t start as a business idea. It started at family dinners in Texas.
For years, my mom kept her own seasoned salt on the table. It was familiar, dependable, and always within reach. One evening after dinner, I took some home to see if I could add a little heat to the recipe. I wasn’t trying to change the overall flavor — just give it a subtle kick.
After a few weeks of trial and error, I finally had the confidence to discreetly introduce the updated mix at the next family dinner. Trying not to hurt anyone’s feelings, the younger generation started using it quietly, pointing and mouthing, “Give me that.”
Before long, people were asking if they could take some home. Then if I could make a little extra for friends. The response kept growing until my sister-in-law finally said, “You should try to sell this stuff. What would you even call it?”
Until that moment, I hadn’t thought about selling it—let alone naming it. Put on the spot and without thinking, I said, “GimmeDat.” Probably because that’s what everyone had secretly been calling it already.
GimmeDat isn’t about reinventing seasoned salt. It’s about taking something familiar, giving it a thoughtful update, and making it useful again. Not a novelty blend. Not a one-recipe spice. Just a seasoned salt that earns its place and gets used.
It’s made for people who cook without overthinking it, share meals often, and care more about flavor than fuss. People like my mom—who’s now one of GimmeDat’s biggest fans.
